I just came back from Xuta’s Summer sale pop-up shop in Maida Vale, London, for having a look of their designs in real and talking about further project. Shilpi Mahindroo who is one of my client and the manager of UK market of Xuta, a hand spun, hand woven, printed and dyed textile fashion brand, told me about her philosophy and shared the initial idea of her business with me.
The Xuta is a profit-sharing enterprise, and they are contributing the sales profit in the social and economic stability of the craftsmen. They are supporting the community and families who are self-taught weavers in India. Also, they re-cycle un-used cloth from large manufacturers to make accessories of various styles and designs. Xuta hopes that their efforts encourage the next generation to accept weaving as an occupation, and a legacy in craftsmen community in India and sharing this thought through sustainable world.
This is one of the important reason why I work with Xuta, personally I support their thoughts and it’s worth to introduce and share this brand with many more people. And now I am working on their website and brand visual marketing. We are aiming to launch the website in the end September. Hope you find more interesting thoughts soon in the future. For now, you can sneak in to their pop-up shop which opens now until tomorrow.
