Dumb Ways to Die is a public service announcement campaign by Metro Trains in Melbourne, Australia to promote rail safety. The campaign was devised by advertising agency McCann and went viral through sharing and social media starting in November 2012. And it got winner prize at this year’s Cannes International Festival of Creativity. Back to Dumb Ways to Die, it’s hard to find memorable safety warning campaigns actually, but this quirky, animated music video is hard to forget. The lyrics are funny but it could happen in real, for example, “while setting fire to your hair or poking a grizzly bear are dumb ways to die, ignoring safety rules around trains is the dumbest of all.” On top of this lyrics, the darkly cute little deaths are dancing following the catchy melody, I couldn’t stop smiling and watching it over and over again. Safety warnings can be entertaining and brings a good lesson to us with smile like this!
